APE: LETS GO BANANAS

Backstory

In October 1962, humanity stood on the brink of nuclear war. Extraterrestrials from the Planet of the Apes landed on the banana
islands of the Caribbean Bay and threatened to destroy the land if
they were not given all the bananas. Their weapons were
impressive, so people were forced to submit and pay tribute. 1000
tons of bananas were collected by these gangsters every day. Bananas became the new dollars. There were fewer and fewer of
them on Earth. For juicy, ripe bananas, people were able to kill
each other. But why were these bananas so necessary for APES?
